January 2010 Dear Friends, 
I would like to begin by thanking all of you who contributed to my "Angel Fund" launched back in February, 2009. I originally posted a letter on this website with a specific house in mind which was eventually lost to a higher bidder. Five more bids were subsequently placed on various houses until one was accepted, but again lost when the seller would not negotiate after failed inspections. Needless to say, I have an even greater appreciation now for what it takes to purchase a house. 
During these daunting economic times I have pursued creative ways to expand my opportunities to perform or teach, besides my career with Aztec Two-Step. One idea was solo performances for private parties or house concerts, much like Levon Helm does in his barn with his "Midnight Ramble" concerts, only in this case in your home or barn, not mine - at least not yet! Other ideas were songwriting tutorials or career consultations for yourself or as a gift for an aspiring musician, or perhaps hiring me as your musical emissary to a school or a nursing home, a civic or spiritual function. These additional revenue streams are by no means an attempt to take the place of my career with Aztec Two-Step, only to expand new avenues to create, teach and perform – and to increase my opportunity to finally purchase a home. Here’s hoping you’ll be in touch to discuss your ideas or any of the aforementioned possibilities, and may the magic of this New Year bring you peace and prosperity, great health and joy.
